Can the Tupperware plastic material be dangerous? Are the chemicals in plastics a danger to human use? There are chemicals in plastics called additives that makes the plastic more resistant to elements such as sunlight, water, other chemicals, heat and bacteria. There are also other chemicals which are called impurities that unintentionally exist in these plastics. These additives can leach out of the plastic into food that we put in these containers. However, the leaching rate depends on the molecular size of the chemical, the temperature and the length of time the food is exposed to the plastics. Read more…
